APPOINTMENT OF COMPANY SECRETARY

The board of Hill & Smith Holdings PLC ("Hill & Smith") is pleased to announce
the re-appointment of John Humphreys as Company Secretary with immediate effect.

Mr Humphreys, who is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries, was
previously Company Secretary of Hill & Smith between 2005 and 2006. He takes
over the role from Chris Burr, who remains Group Finance Director.
