Board Changes

Appointment of Chairman

 

Bill Whiteley, having served on the Board of Hill & Smith Holdings PLC ("Hill & Smith" or "the Company" or "the Group") for seven years, has informed the Board of his intention to retire at the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting in May 2017.

 

Following a recruitment process led by Non-executive Director Annette Kelleher, with the support of Korn Ferry, the international search consultants, the Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Jock Lennox as Chairman with effect from the conclusion of the Group's Annual General Meeting on 11 May 2017. Jock has been a Non-executive Director of the Group since 2009.

 

Jock is an experienced Non-executive Director and Audit Committee Chairman, a position he currently holds at Barratt Developments plc, a FTSE 100 company, and Dixons Carphone plc. He is also Chairman of EnQuest plc. He is a Chartered Accountant and was a senior audit partner at Ernst & Young (now EY). He was a member of the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and is Chairman of the Trustees at the Tall Ships Youth Trust.
